Pushpa 2 release delayed: August 15 to December 6 wait:
Ideally, Pushpa 2 should have released on August 15 which is just a fortnight away. But with the postponement, the film has been pushed to December 6 which is still far away.
Coming to the topic, the expectation was that Pushpa 2 will definitely release in the range of Rs 50 crore in Hindi. This is in view of the sequel hype in the Hindi belt and a good round of promotions from the team. But with the delay, the whole dynamic changes. The numbers that were offered earlier will no longer be applicable for the film.
Even in the case of RRR, the postponement from January to March resulted in a substantial drop in the initial day estimate. The main reason for this is the delay to reduce the buzz to a certain extent. The same could happen with Pushpa 2 in the most important Hindi film. Considering the established pattern that delays always affect the box office prospects, it remains to be seen if the hopes of a Rs 50 crore opening for Pushpa 2 are dashed.
If Pushpa had opened in the Rs 50 crore range, it would have been one of the biggest openers of all time and would have even touched the record of Rs 54 crore held by KGF 2. But that’s not the case when the film releases in December.
